Middle School Teaching Fellows
Summary
Title:Middle School Teaching Fellows
ID:1195
Department:Math, Science
Description

Trinity School, a coeducational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks beginning, promising, aspiring teachers of color with excellent communication skills, an interest in teaching as a career, and a desire to join our Middle School faculty as an apprentice teacher.

Under the guidance of faculty mentors, teaching fellows will gain a deep understanding of what constitutes good teaching, an appreciation of the role of independent schools in the world of education, and a strong sense of his or her own emerging talent and potential as a vital participant in a school community.

Teaching fellows participate in the academic and co-curricular life of the school while they are, at the same time, earning a Master’s degree through a distinctive program designed specifically for independent day school educators, sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. Over the course of the two years of the fellowship, fellows will gradually take on a heavier teaching load as their experience grows.

To support the fellows, Trinity School will not only pair the fellow with an experienced teacher who will serve as a mentor, but will also underwrite the costs of the Master’s program and will provide access to highly affordable housing convenient to the school.

For 2017-2019, we are seeking two fellows to teach Mathematics or Science in our Middle School (Grades 5-8).

An Equal Opportunity Employer, Trinity School seeks candidates who will add to the diversity of our school community.
