Description

Trinity School, a coeducational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks an Associate Chaplain, beginning September 2017.

The Upper School Psychologist consults both formally and informally with Upper School administration, deans, advisors, teachers, parents, students and others with regard to the emotional, social and learning needs of the Upper School students.  An active, visible presence in the life of the Upper School, The Upper School Psychologist is also an advisor, teacher, and sponsor of student activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consults with the Upper School Principal.
  • Serves as member of Upper School Administration Team.
  • Works in partnership with the Director of Learning Support and with Upper School learning specialists to support students, evaluating and translating psychoeducational testing  when appropriate
  • Meets with individual students when needed for short-term support
  • Meets with and consults with parents and students in crisis situations
  • Provides consultation services to teachers, deans, and administrators.
  • Coordinates weekly Student Support Team meetings
  • Provides counsel to school as it attends to student well-being
  • Provides parent guidance
  • Attends and presents at parent events.
  • Assists with outside referrals for psychotherapy and psychiatric consults
  • Serves as the liaison to outside psychological support services.
  • Other duties as assigned.
