Description
Trinity School, a coeducational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a Systems Administrator, starting as soon as possible.
 
The Systems Administrator is a member of the Technology Department and reports to the Network Manager.  The position is primarily responsible for supporting and improving the school’s computer network and related systems.
 
Responsibilities include:
·     Create and maintain user accounts for Active Directory, Exchange and Google Apps
·     Maintain AD structure, objects and group policies
·     Employ systems management platforms to deploy, monitor and administer computers
·     Respond to help desk tickets in person, by telephone or email, and serve as the escalation point for tickets that have been unable to be resolved by support engineers and support specialists
·     Participate in planning to improve network infrastructure and services
·     Maintain accurate documentation of server, network, and phone systems
·     Maintain timely and accurate help desk request records using ticketing system
·     Make effective use of help desk request records to identify patterns, systemic problems, server/network and phone system issues, and end‐user training needs
·     Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, email, printing, network, and phone issues
·     Install, configure, and maintain software, hardware, network equipment, and related peripherals
·     Perform preventative maintenance on network systems and other equipment as needed
·     Supervise as needed vendors, consultants, and department staff for requests and projects
·     Other projects/tasks assigned by department supervisor
 
Physical Requirements:
·     Frequently lift up to 30 lb. of network and computer equipment
·     Crawl under or around furniture to install network and computer equipment
·     Climb ladders and reach to install network equipment, wiring, and perform other tasks
·     Work in standard office conditions and climate
 
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 or more years in a similar role within a mixed platform environment ideally including: Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012, Microsoft SCCM, Exchange, Google Apps, Google Apps Directory Sync, Google Chrome OS, Apple OSX and iOS, VMWare Virtual Servers and EMC SAN, Windows 7 and later, Casper Suite, and Telco (PBX and VOIP). HP ProCurve, Aruba wireless, SonicWall firewall, Barracuda Spam Firewall, Barracuda Backup, student information systems (e.g., Blackbaud) a plus.  Also a plus is one or more current technical certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, Security+).
 
In addition to technical proficiency, this role requires excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects to completion and within deadlines.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with individuals with a range of technological expertise in a courteous and professional manner while remaining calm and supportive with users.
