Trinity School, a coeducational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West of Manhattan, seeks a Middle School Science Teacher, beginning in September 2016.
 
Candidates should have a master’s in science or science education and a bachelor’s in physics, astronomy, earth science, or related fields.  The successful candidate will teach 5^th grade conceptual physics (Properties of matter, energy, motion and forces) and 6^th grade earth and planetary science.  Minimum of 3-5 years MS science teaching experience with a real passion for the middle school age group desired.
 
Evidence of related passions and experiences and demonstrated success in creating programs such as robotics, machine contests, community gardens, or interest in sharing programs in related areas with students are a plus.
 
The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional understanding of student learning needs, strong communication skills, emotional intelligence and ability to connect with students, superior problem-solving ability, an ability to work cooperatively and generously with colleagues, and an eagerness to reflect on his or her effectiveness as a teacher and to seek constructive feedback and professional growth.
