Description

Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West of Manhattan, seeks an Upper School Chemistry Teacher to serve students in grades 9-12 beginning in September 2020.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or environmental science (Master’s degree preferred) and high school teaching experience in courses ranging from introductory chemistry through AP Chemistry. Understanding and experience with laboratory-based, student-centered instruction are essential.  Interest and experience in teaching other courses, particularly environmental science, and/or supervising student research are desirable.  The position will involve teaching 10th grade chemistry in a physics first curriculum in addition to the possibility of teaching advanced chemistry or science electives.  

Qualified candidates will possess intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, openness to others’ ideas, understanding of student learning needs, strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, an ability to work cooperatively and generously with colleagues, a commitment to ongoing professional development, an eagerness to build community both within the school and with community partners, and a sense of humor.
