Trinity School, a coeducational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a Temporary Ceramics Teacher, Grades 2-12, beginning September 1, 2017.

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile ceramics teacher for our Lower, Middle and Upper School who enjoys teaching and mentoring children. The ideal candidate is experienced in addressing children’s skill development in the visual arts, and working knowledge about current best practices, particularly in the area of ceramics, including all levels of working in clay from beginning to advanced, hand building and wheel throwing.  Formal training and skill as an artist are musts along with significant experience teaching children in a school setting. Professional responsibilities beyond teaching duties include maintaining the two ceramics studios, managing the kilns for all ceramics firings, responsible care and maintenance of kilns and other equipment, and communicating with parents, administration and colleagues.

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
