Trinity School, a coeducational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a School Nurse for students in grades 7-12 beginning September 1, 2016.
 
Primary Responsibilities 

• Daily health care to students for injuries and acute illness as well as long-term management of students with chronic conditions.
• Development of health care plans and emergency protocols
• Collection and review of yearly physical exam forms and immunization requirements
• Health promotion and education in the community for faculty, staff, students and families
• Development and evaluation of school health policies
• Ensure communication and collaboration about the health needs of students among families, physicians and school personnel

 
Required and Desired Attributes

• Registered Nurse with current license to practice in NYS
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master degree preferred
• CPR and AED certification
• At least 3 years work experience as a school, adolescent, emergency or public health nurse
• Knowledge of school health programs, such as immunization requirements, normal adolescent growth and development, reproductive and behavioral health
• Ability to multitask, perform quick and accurate assessments and respond to life-threatening situations
• Teaching experience preferred
• Excellent technology and communication skills
