Trinity School, a coeducational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a part-time Teacher of Performing Arts, Grades 7-12 (Strings Teacher), beginning September 1, 2017. 

The Trinity School seeks an experienced music educator and conductor to teach string orchestra and chamber music in Grades 7-12.  Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years teaching experience, a professional level of skill on their primary instrument, and a love for working with Middle and Upper School students with a wide range of musical ability.  Candidates should possess strong communication skills, a desire to work collaboratively, a commitment to professional development and a sense of humor.   

A Master’s degree or higher in music education or performance is preferred.  The responsibilities of the position include:

• 7/8 string orchestra, one section of Middle School general music, Upper School intermediate and advanced string orchestras.  Preparing students for Middle and Upper school evening concerts, community time and all school chapel performances. Additional responsibilities include managing and organizing student participation in NYSMA and other outside festivals and competitions as needed.
