Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a part-time Teacher of Visual Arts (photography), Grades 7-10 beginning September 2019.

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Photography teacher for grades 7-10 who enjoys teaching and mentoring Middle and Upper School children.  The ideal candidate will have experience addressing children’s skill development in photography and a working knowledge of current best practices, particularly in the areas of darkroom photography, digital photography, and Photoshop.  Preference will be given to candidates with substantial experience in more than one artistic discipline.  Formal training and skill as an artist is a requirement.  Interest in and the ability to collaborate with a team in developing curriculum and engaging in ongoing discussions concerning best practices in education both within the arts and the larger division and school is important.  Professional responsibilities include interest in contributing to the life of the school outside of the classroom, ongoing professional development, communicating with parents, supervision duties, and occasional committee work.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
• Strong verbal and organizational skills
• Comfort with technology
• Strong personal studio practice
