TrinitySchool, a coeducational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a School Nurse for the 2012-2013 school year.
 
Primary Responsibilities 

• Daily health care to students for injuries and acute illness as well as long-term management of students with chronic conditions
• Development of health care plans and emergency protocols
• Collection and review of yearly physical exam forms and immunization requirements
• Health promotion and education in the community for faculty, staff, students and families
• Development and evaluation of school health policies
• Ensure communication and collaboration about the health needs of students among families, physicians and school personnel
• Supervise part-time nursing staff

 
Required and Desired Attributes

• Registered Nurse with current license to practice in NY required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
• CPR and AED certification required
• Experience as a school, pediatric, emergency or public health nurse preferred 
• Knowledge of school health programs, such as immunization requirements, normal pediatric growth and development, allergies, reproductive and behavioral health
• Ability to care for chronic conditions, such as asthma and diabetes
• Ability to multitask, perform quick and accurate assessments and respond to life-threatening situations
• Excellent technology and communication skills
