Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West of Manhattan, seeks a Lower School Spanish teacher from January 28 - June 13, 2019.

The successful candidate will be a dedicated, skilled world language teacher with demonstrated expertise teaching Spanish to students in elementary school.  Knowledge of the FLES model is highly desired. The department seeks an approachable colleague who possesses strong communication skills, the ability to work with a team, skills to engage and inspire students in the pursuit of learning a language in a Spanish only classroom, and experience with students in grades K - 4.

Trinity’s Modern Languages Department offers instruction in Spanish, French, and Mandarin. Mandatory Spanish instruction begins in Kindergarten; in fifth grade, students can choose to continue with Spanish or start French. In ninth grade, students can continue with the language studied in Middle School, or they can begin a new world language, including Mandarin.  Separate from the Modern Languages Department, the school’s Classics Department offers instruction in Latin and Greek, including mandatory Latin in grades 6-8.
