Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West of Manhattan, seeks an experienced Middle School Science Teacher, beginning in September 2018.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in physics, astronomy, earth science, science education, or related fields; an advanced degree in science or science education and at least 3 years of science teaching experience with the middle school age group are preferred. The successful candidate will teach 5th grade (primarily conceptual physics and its application to body systems) and 6th grade (earth and planetary science).

The position will also include advising a group of 8-10 students, additional supervision duties, and attending grade level and faculty meetings. The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional understanding of student learning needs, strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, a passion for middle school students, an ability to work cooperatively and generously with colleagues, a commitment to ongoing professional development, an eagerness to build community both within the school and with community partners, and a sense of humor.
