Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks an educator to fill the position of Middle School mathematics teacher for grades 5-8, beginning in September 2019.

The ideal candidate will have taught middle grades students for at least five years. A Master’s degree in mathematics or a related field is preferable. We are also looking for individuals who are:

• an exemplary teacher of mathematics;
• an expert in curriculum as well as pedagogy;
• a versatile team player appreciative of traditional approaches yet knowledgeable about progressive approaches especially in problem-based learning;
• a skilled classroom manager sensitive to the developmental needs of middle grades students; and
• an approachable colleague who possesses intellectual curiosity, openness to others’ ideas, an eagerness to extend oneself for others, and a sense of humor.

In addition, the School seeks candidates eager to support a mission driven, multi-faceted educational program designed to address the needs of the “whole person.” Successful candidates promise to make some significant contribution to the school community beyond the mathematics classroom and to exemplify the virtues the School hopes to instill in its students.
