Trinity School, a coeducational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a Visual Arts Teacher, Grades 1-4 beginning September 2016.
 
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile visual art teacher for grades 1-4 who enjoys teaching and mentoring elementary age children.  The ideal candidate is experienced in addressing children’s skill development in the visual arts, and working knowledge about current best practices particularly in the areas of drawing, painting and printmaking.  Formal training and skill as an artist is a must.  Interest in and the ability to collaborate with a team in developing curriculum and engaging in ongoing discussions concerning best practices in education both within the arts and the larger division and school is important.  Professional responsibilities include interest in contributing to the life of the school outside of the classroom, ongoing professional development, communicating with parents, supervision duties and committee work.
 
Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
• Strong verbal and organizational skills
• Comfort with technology
• Strong personal studio practice
