Trinity School, a co-educational K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks Associate Teachers to support classrooms in Grades 2-4 beginning September 1, 2021.

The Lower School Associate Teacher Program provides educators in the dawn of their careers the opportunity to work alongside and learn from an experienced Head Teacher.  Designed for college graduates interested in pursuing a teaching career, the majority of appointments are for two years, in the same classroom.

Qualified candidates are passionate about working with children and putting students’ needs first. In addition, they are flexible in thinking, interested in contributing to conversations about instruction and curriculum, and have experience with technology or online learning (for example, SmartBoard, Zoom, Seesaw, Google Classroom, etc.).  Candidates need to possess a commitment  to create an equitable classroom culture inclusive of varied student experiences as well as an awareness of how race, gender, and other aspects of identity manifest themselves in the early childhood classroom.  We seek educators who are collaborative in nature, eager to learn, and have a joyful sense of humor.

While many Associate Teacher candidates have one or two years of student teaching experience in independent/charter/public schools and have obtained or are working towards a Master’s degree, Trinity School also welcomes qualified mid-career changers with limited classroom experience.
