Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a part-time Boys Assistant Varsity Cross Country Coach for the Fall 2025 season. This part-time, seasonal, stipended position begins on August 17, 2025 and ends on November 3, 2025, although planning and communication outside of the season is required. The season includes several holidays including Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Indigenous People’s Day, and Diwali.
Specific qualifications include significant experience participating in and/or coaching competitive running. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and collegiate running experience is a plus. Qualified candidates will embrace the unique role of athletics in an independent school setting; have strong organizational skills; embrace and uphold team values (e.g., positive sportsmanship, character, compassion, integrity); have experience in teaching cross country concepts at intermediate to advanced levels; have experience in effectively managing relationships with athletes, coaches, and parents; and be able to attend practices and games.
Practices occur on weekdays with times varying between 2:30 and 6:00 PM. There are approximately 8-10 meets typically beginning at 4:00 PM on weekdays and occasional weekends.
Qualified candidates will also possess intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, commitment to ongoing professional development, openness to others’ ideas, eagerness to extend themselves for others, and a sense of humor.
