Description

Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks an Assistant Junior Varsity Boys’ Tennis Coach for the 2023 spring season. This part-time, seasonal, stipended position begins in late February and ends in mid-May, although planning and communication outside of the season is required.

Specific qualifications include significant experience with playing and/or coaching competitive tennis.  A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and collegiate tennis experience is a plus. Qualified candidates will embrace the unique role of athletics in an independent school setting; have strong organizational skills; embrace and uphold team values (e.g., positive sportsmanship, character, compassion, integrity); have experience in teaching tennis concepts at intermediate to advanced levels; have experience in effectively managing relationships with athletes, coaches, and parents; have a solid understanding of the skills and strategies in tennis; and be able to attend practices and games.

Practices occur on weekdays with times varying between 3:30 and 6:00 PM. There are approximately 15 matches which may last beyond 6:00 PM.

Qualified candidates will also possess intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, commitment to ongoing professional development, openness to others’ ideas, eagerness to extend themselves for others, and a sense of humor.

Seasonal salary range: $3,000 - $3,500 (late February through mid-May)
