Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a Leave Replacement Upper School Teacher of Mandarin beginning August 26 through November 20, 2026.

This full-time leave replacement faculty position includes teaching four-to-five sections of Mandarin to students in grades nine through twelve, across multiple proficiency levels, including advanced and heritage-level courses. Responsibilities include planning and preparing lessons, assessing student work, writing academic reports and progress updates, as well as participating in Curriculum Night.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's or, preferably, a Master's degree in Chinese or a related field, possess native or near-native fluency, and be an experienced language educator with demonstrated expertise teaching high school students. Strong candidates will also demonstrate a deep understanding of student learning needs, excellent communication skills, and emotional intelligence. They will be committed to an equitable classroom culture that is inclusive of varied student experiences and able to work cooperatively and generously with colleagues. They will also show an eagerness to build community both within the school and with community partners, and they will bring a sense of humor to their work.
