Trinity School seeks a knowledgeable and enthusiastic educator for the full-time position of Associate Director of College Counseling. The Associate Director will be an integral member of a well-established college counseling team, and will work collaboratively with other administrators, staff, and faculty. The successful candidate joins an experienced group of colleagues, including four counselors and the department administrator. Anticipated start in the summer 2024 (between July 1 and August 1).
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Educating students and parents about the college investigation and application process and counseling them thoughtfully and ethically on the choices they will make;
- Writing compelling school letters of recommendation;
- Assisting students with college applications and essays;
- Creating and maintaining strong professional ties with college admissions officers;
- Fostering good relationships with both the local and national communities of college counselors;
- Planning and participating in office programming, some of which occasionally occurs during evenings and on weekends;
- Updating college-related publications and the college office website;
- Attending professional conferences, college tours, and local college events;
- Participating robustly in the life of the school beyond college counseling.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of experience in college counseling or selective
- college admissions;
- Strong and clear writing and public speaking skills;
- An interest in staying current in the profession and in participating in local and national
- associations;
- A strong sense of initiative and an ability to work on multiple tasks within a fast-paced school environment;
- A vocational attitude and spirit for working with adolescents as they mature and transition to college;
- Tolerance and empathy for their parents as they launch their children into the world;
- A strong work ethic;
- Confidence, intelligence, energy, diplomacy, authority, patience, and a lively sense of humor.

Salary range: $120,000 - $175,000 (salary based upon experience)
