Description

Trinity School is proud to be in partnership with the Day School Teaching Residency (DSTR) Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. In partnership with 12 other leading day schools, the program seeks to weave together a hands-on teaching experience with coursework in the pedagogical underpinnings of education to foster the development of strong and highly qualified independent school teachers.

While earning their Master’s in Education, fellows spend two years at Trinity learning their craft, gaining experience in the classroom, and developing culturally responsive pedagogies, under the guidance and supervision of their mentors. Throughout the two years, each Fellow is surrounded by a community of Trinity educators that will support the transition from observer to teacher through feedback, evaluation, and observations.

The Fellows Program at Trinity seeks to bring to campus talented scholars and teachers. For the Fall of 2023, we are particularly interested in hiring a Middle School Fellow that would sit in the Religion, Philosophy, and Ethics Department. Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree in the humanities, with demonstrated interest in religious studies and ethics, and a special interest in the teaching of virtue as a lived experience.

We are committed to recruiting outstanding fellows who reflect the ethnic and cultural diversity of our city and to creating pathways that develop highly qualified educators who will go on to be members of the independent school community. Committed to becoming an anti-racist institution in all aspects of our community, Trinity expects its fellows to support equitable classroom culture inclusive of varied student experiences and to possess a strong awareness of how race, gender, class, and other aspects of identity manifest themselves in the classroom.

Fellows will receive a salary that includes subsidized faculty housing, a generous benefits package, an 80% tuition contribution, and professional development.

For the Fall of 2023, to apply, candidates are asked to submit the following:

• cover letter

• resume

• academic transcript(s) (one file)
