Description

Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks an Assistant Varsity Track and Field Coach with High Jump experience for the 2023 spring season.  This part-time, seasonal, stipended position begins in early March and ends in late May/early June, although planning and communication outside of the season is required.

Specific qualifications include significant experience competing and/or coaching the High Jump.  A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and collegiate jumping experience is a plus. Qualified candidates will embrace the unique role of athletics in an independent school setting; have strong organizational skills; embrace and uphold team values (e.g., positive sportsmanship, character, compassion, integrity); have experience in teaching high jumping concepts at beginning to intermediate levels; have experience in effectively managing relationships with athletes, coaches, and parents; and be able to attend practices and games. 

Practices occur on weekdays with times varying between 3:30 and 6:00 PM. There are approximately 6 track meets that last beyond 6:00 PM and occasional weekend meets.

Qualified candidates will also possess intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, commitment to ongoing professional development, openness to others’ ideas, eagerness to extend themselves for others, and a sense of humor.

Seasonal salary range: $4,000 - $5,335 (early March through early May/late June)
